Democrats

Do I like the present choice for Democrats?  No.  Now since he is considered black, I will clairfy.  I don't give a tinkers damn what color my president is.  All I ask is that he govern the country with a strong and fair hand.  That he leave office with the country in better shape than when he came in.  Will Obama do that?  No.  He is a great speaker, but not much on doing.  Will I vote for him again?  Yes.  There is no one on the Republican side that I feel even remotely comfortable with.  Also on the Repug side is the aspect of Grover Norquist.  The very idea of one man calling the shots in my congress is galling to me.  And there is not one Republican that has the courage and integrity to tell him to kiss off.  I would like to see Hillary run again.  She would have made a damn good president, but the Democratic party was so hung up on putting the first black man in the White House that they threw her away.  The way she was treated by both the Democratic party and the Obama camp was disgusting.  If she runs, I hope she does so on an independent ticket.  I think she could win on and independent ticket.  I am damn sure she could if she chose to run on the Democratic ticket.  By the way, I just registered as an Independent.  I will no longer associate my name with either party because of the childish, churlish, irresponsible way they are treating their responsibility to our country.

Politics as usual

Looks like Herman Cain's dirty little secrets are crawling under the door of the closet.  I believe the woman claiming a 13 year affair with Cain.  I do not trust the man and don't believe anything he says.  There are not many  politicians that I would trust.  As to presidential candidates, only one on the Republican side seems qualified to me.  John Huntsman.  Rick Perry is all talk and swagger.  Rick Perry has done nothing for Texas since walking into office on Bush's coattails. The oil field jobs would have come about no matter who was in Austin.  As to cutting state spending, he did do that.  He cut the forestry service right in the middle of the worst fire season in Texas history.  He axed the education department.  The schools are holding more fundraisers than ever.  And in spite of a law mandating smaller class sizes, we are back to packing more students into a classroom and expecting the teacher to do his/her job of teaching those children when in reality all that teacher can do is try to keep order.  So, yeah, Perry did cut spending and gave businesses a free pass, but that is nothing new for Texas.  We screw the voter and pat big business on the back.  Perry was in Austin at the height of the fires in Bastrop, 30 miles from Austin, and he did not even bother to put in an appearance.  Mitt Romney.  Mr. flip flop.  Mitt will say and do whatever it takes to get elected.  As to Mitt know what the middle class needs, you only have to look at his life to know that is pure garbage.  Mitt was born with a gold spoon in his mouth, attended private schools, is worth $465 million and built his business with money from family.  Mitt has never had to wonder if he will feed his kids or pay the rent.  As to Gingrich, that man is a total piece of garbage.  He has been on public dole his entire life.  Papa was military.  Teaching in Georgia.  He left his college teaching gig when he was refused tenure.  Wonder why? He has cheated on all of his wives save this one and seeing shots of her, he will not survive if he cheats on her.  He has screwed our country all because he hated Clinton.  Not even considering a vote for the Lizard. 

National Defense Authorization Act

1031 and 1032 amendments to the NDAA were drafted in secret and it's authors are now trying to push it through congress.  I would be illegal because it gives the military power to operate within our borders and that is expressly forbidden.  It would also allow torture of detainees.  What have we come to?  Did McCain enjoy the torture he endured so much that he wants to pass it along?  This is truly disgusting.

Terrorists in Congress

I sincerely hope everyone has the good sense to scream loud and long about what McCain and Levin are trying to push through the Senate.  In secret, those two fools drafted an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act to allow the military to arrest any American at any time anywhere for whatever and hold them indefinitely without charges and without access to an attorney.  In other word, just tossing the Constitution out the window.  One would think McCain of all people would be dead set against this type of tyranny.  Maybe he was brainwashed by the Viet Cong during his 51/2 years in captivity.  Whatever the reason for this grab at power, it is really scary.  In my opinion those two should be impeached and tried for treason for that is what this bill represents.  It is treason against the Constitution of the United States.  Want to know more?  Google 1031 and 1032 of the National Defense Authorization Act.  It will scare the beJesus out of you. 

Politics as usual

So the so-called super committee cannot reach an agreement on deficit reductions.  Seems simple enough to me.  Raise taxes and cut expenditures.  Only the stupid Repugs do not want to raise taxes on the rich, only on the poor and middle class.  Why?  Well, Grover Norquist owns each and every Republican in Congress and some of the Democrats as well.  Norquist's plan for the government is to destroy the country and the Republicans are just falling in line like good little mindless robots.  There is not a one of those Republicans in Washington that has the good of the country at heart.  The only thing they are interested in doing is 1)Making sure Obama is not re-elected and 2)guarding their ill gotten gains.  A bunch of billionaires marched into Congress last week to plead their case for higher taxes on the top 1%.  The Repubs still insist they will not raise taxes on the rich.  Reason, in my opinion, is Norquist.  Norquist has inherited money and probably in off shore accounts.  Norquist is, in my opinion, in bed with radical Islamists and for that reason wants to destroy this country.  Google Norquist.  Scary stuff and he owns our Congress.  Can you say Hitler?

Illegal Aliens

I am straying from my last post, but I think this needs to be said.  I work with a man, 66 years old.  He is of Spanish descent.  He is American.  He will tell you that he is not Mexican.  He is American.  This man never went to school.  He was working in the fields by the time he was 5 years old.  He has spent his life working.  He had retired, but returned to work because medical problems took all his savings.  He told me about working alongside illegals and them bragging about what government benefits they could get.  One even told him that he came to the United States because the government has to help you with your children until they are 18.  He worked and built himself and his family a small house.  One of the illegals he worked with at the city built his family a brick home,  drove a new truck, wife drove a new car.  He bragged to this older American that he got a large sum of food stamps for his family and that they always went to the Emergency Room and free clinics because he did not want to pay for anything.  My friend found this particularly galling in light of the fact that he is an American citizen and could get no help when his wife was sick with cancer.  He has never taken anything and is very proud of this.  It makes him very angry that he is "tarred with the same stench as the illegals simply because of his heritage."  I share his anger.  And this proud man got his GED when he was 42 years old.  This man is what America needs more of. 

Coverups

Most of the major universities are examining their files and looking to see if they could get caught like Penn State.  No one seems to really give a damn about the victims.  All they are interested in is covering their rears.  It should be about the victims.  All of it should be about the victims and justice for them.  I don't care who you are, you have no right to hurt children.  I sincerely hope that Sandusky and any and all that covered for him and made it easy for him to be the predator he is spend the rest of their lives in jail.  It takes a really low person to prey on children in this way.  He is not even human.  He is nothing more than feces.

Protecting criminals

It is disgusting to know that many, many people in State College, Pa knew about Sandusky and just looked the other way.  From the principal of the school where he got his victims to the top big wigs at the university, everyone let those kids down.  Had I been the mother of that boy the principal allowed Sandusky to take from school, I would have torn her apart with my bare hands.  She set that child up with this sicko and bought into his charm.  She should have been charged with accessory to kidnapping and Sandusky should have been charged with kidnapping.  Instead, when he boy acted out, he was given to Sandusky.  His mother had no say at all.  Everyone involved needs to spend the rest of their lives in an 8x8 cell with nothing to do but look at the four walls.  And I do believe that former grad student that says he went to police.  I fully believe that the police expunged that record to cover themselves.  Another thing, if he did not go to the police, then how did it end up with the district attorney?  And, by the way, that DA also bought into Sandusky's persona.  He refused to investigate the case.  As I said, everyone should be ashamed of themselves.  Every adult that was supposed to protect these kids let them down.  Wonder what they see when they look in the mirror?  Or can they even stand to look in the mirror?  I couldn't.

Protecting the Postal Service

Each person in this country has an elected representative and two elected Senators.  Write them.  The destruction of the United States Postal Service is because there is a surplus of $50 to $75 billion in overpayment to Federal Employees Retirement System and to Civil Service Retirement System.  If Congress can gain complete control of the Postal Service, they will have control of this money and that is their real goal.  And after they blow through that, they will go after something else that primarily helps the American people.  America had better wake up and put leashes on these crooks in Washington--really short leashes. 

Post Offfice

Anyone reading this please contact your elected officials.  They are destroying the Postal Service.  You may think you don't need it, but without the Postal Service FedEX and UPS will be much, much more expensive.  There will be nothing to stop them from charging whatever they please.  Add to that, the Postal Service is the only agency that has not cost the taxpayer a dime since 1970.  Not only do they not take money from the taxpayer, they are forced to kick back money and to pre-fund future employees' health insurance to the tune of $5billion per year.  Congress needs a new slush fund to dip into since they have bankrupted Social Security and the Postal Service is it.  In addition, there are many in Congress that would like to privatize the Postal Service. They would get some great kickbacks from the companies that want to step in and take the cream of the crop from the Postal Service.  What they would take is the city deliveries.  They don't want rural deliveries because there is no money to be made on these deliveries.  So if they are privatized, there will be a segment of our society that will have no service.  I would bet you did not know that the Postal Service delivers to the bottom of the Grand Canyon via mule train?  Or that some of the rural routes in the west and Alaska are actually done by small plane?  Or that in the Southern states, mail is delivered by boat? The Postal Service is mandated to deliver your letter to you wherever you live and to forward your letter to you around the world for no additional postage.  It really is the best deal you get from the government.  Wake up and help protect it. 

More stupid politicians

I've been pretty busy lately, but I have had time to follow the news.  I read an article today outlining how Mitt Romney made his money.  Seems the golden boy made his millions by corporate raiding.  You know, buying a healthy company, robbing it blind then selling it off.  Almost always cost a lot of people their jobs. And Steve Kroft of 60 Minutes did an article on Insider trading by members of Congress.  Seems it is not illegal for them to do it, but it is for the rest of the country.  As we all knew, they play by a different set of rules.  Almost every one of them went into Congress moderately well off and left multi-millionaires.  You and I can't stack the deck this way, but they do and get away with it.  You really  need to pull this report up and listen to it.  It will make you furious.  It crosses party lines.  It involves almost all congressmen and women. 

Herman Cain

I'm not buying that he is innocent of this.  I believe he did do this and these are the only two cases he got caught with.  I believe there are more.  As I said, he reminds me of the Southern Pentacostal lay preacher who is telling you to give money so the Lord will bless you while he is playing games with your daughter.  Slick does not even begin to describe him.  My opinion only.

More stupidity

I saw on the news today where the supercomittee that was appointed to come up with a way out of this mess has deadlocked.  Will someone kick them in the place they need to be kicked in?  As someone put it, we need and LBJ.  He would have locked them in a room until they came up with a solution.  He might have fed them and he might not.  We need statesmen and women.  What we have is stupidity and selfishness.  And I see no improvement on the horizon.  I sure hope a lot of those returning vets run for office.  We desperately need men and women in office, not the spoiled selfish pigs we have now.  Everyone is there to serve their own agenda.  Not a one of them give a tinkers damn about the country.  And why is Grover Norquist not being actively investigated?  It has been proven that he has close ties to Islamic radicals.  And our government just sits on it thumbs and lets him get away with his treason.  My country is in a sad, sad state. 

Cain

The true character of Herman Cain now comes out.  I did not like him at all.  He always reminded me of that slick Southern preacher that is screwing your daughter while he is preaching to you to give so the Lord will bless you.  Now we know he is guilty of sexual harassment.  No surprise there.  Wonder what else he is hiding.  If I sound like I am total Democrat, not so.  I am independent.  I will vote for whomever I feel is best for the country.  My ideas and outlooks may not be everyone's ideas and outlooks.  I realize this.  I want someone who will try to govern from the center and represent all Americans, not just a few.  I would have loved to have seen Hillary as president.  I think she would have been a good one.  I also think the Democratic party shafted her.  They treated her like crap.  I would like to see her run as an Independent.  The woman is smart, can think on her feet, and has the welfare of all Americans in mind.  Who will I vote for?  Well, if the Republicans do not come up with someone who has not sold his soul to the devil, I will vote for Obama by default.  He is the lesser of all the evils.

Occupy Wall street movement

Everyone is asking what is OWS about.  It is about the average American wanting a level playing field.  It is about the average American wanting a shot at the American dream.  It is about who we are.  We want our country back.  That is it in a nutshell.  We want our country back.  There is not one politician out there that gives a tinkers damn about the country. There is not one politician, at least on the Republican side, that gives a tinkers damn whether the returning vets have homes and jobs.  There is not one politician out there that even understands what it is like to have things closing in around you, seeing your home disappear, your way of life disappear, looking at the prospect of being homeless and jobless with children to support.  Where are the anti-abortionists now?  They, like the politicians they support don't care.  All they want is to further their agenda.  The politicians know this and play on these fools.  Those politicians promise to walk the walk on jobs, security, health care, but in the end that's all it is.  Talk.  They all remind me of the old time circuit preacher.  Praise the Lord.  Give generously.  He will reward you.  Then he is behind the revival tent in the back seat of a car with your daughter.  Check out what is on the agenda when Karl Rove's group of Republicans meet.  It is how to take the White House from the Democrats.  It is how to take the Senate.  If we can get control of all three houses of government, we are unstoppable.  We can do what we want.  That is the attitude in this country now.  I have mine, screw you.  Cain even made the statement that if you are unemployed and not rich, it is your own fault.  So the demands of OWS is we want our country back.  We want the opportunity to build a decent life.  The 1% made all their billions off the American people and now they refuse to put any of those gains back into the very country that made it possible for them to be richer than Midas.  There is no conscience.  My father's generation would be so ashamed.  My father and every man and a lot of women he knew fought to preserve this country.  They saw everyone as equal.  They were Americans and so was the rest of the country. However, the crop of politicians over the last 30 or so years do not and have not seen this.  They see it as someone else's job to defend the country.  They just make the money off those wars that they promote to sell their weapons.  They just don't care.  The best thing the American citizens can do is get out and vote.  Get off our collective rears and vote.  And before we do this, research the candidates.  Make damn sure they have the welfare of the country in mind, not just their own personal agenda.  Take back our county.
