Insurrection

 I can't wrap my head around why every one of those including the politicians involved in the insurrection on Jan, 6, 2021 aren't being charged with treason, sedition, murder, attempted murder, assault and battery, theft of government property, destruction of government property.  I just cannot understand this.  It was a violent attempt to overthrow our government and if they could have gotten to Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi, they would have killed them.  And there were congressmen involved in this as well.  And they are just being left alone.  We have one from Texas, Louis Gommert, he was involved in the planning.  And he still sits in congress.  What has to happen before we hold these traitors accountable?  This is damn scary.  And the citizens sit back and just ignore what is happening.  No one seems to care that we almost lost our government.  That we almost had a coup and a dictator installed.  And the republicans are calling it a minor happening.  It was not minor.  It was the absolute worst thing that could have happened to our country.  And yet those Republicans that took an oath of office and swore to uphold the Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic and they failed miserably.  And it is shameful.  It is disgusting.  

Money in politics

 Our politics are owned by money, big money, the rich and well connected money.  You may vote, but your vote only puts them in office.  The rich and well connected own them.  A member of the House of Representatives runs every 2 years.  That means that representative has to raise huge amounts of money to run a campaign.  Both parties have call centers set up across from the legislature.  They are expected to spend several hours a day in those call centers doing cold calls to raise money for both their campaign and the party coffers.  So say they spend 4 hours a day cold calling, that does not leave much time for the work of the government, does it? The politicians have their base.  But that base on neither side is enough to put them in office and keep them there.  Every one of them needs the swing voters.  And they spend enough to end poverty in this country every year. Think about that.  Enough money is spent on political campaigns in this country every year to end poverty within the country.  And churches raise enough money to make every person in this country well off for life.  And those churches pay no taxes, nothing.  Do you now see why this country is in so much mess.  It is well past time to take money out of politics, abolish the political parties and force every politician to run as non partisan.  And we have social media.  There is no longer a need for the money in politics.  A politician can do their campaigning on social media, a few town hall meetings, and forcing tv and newspapers to donate 1 ad to those running for office free of charge.  Next up outlawing lobbying.  This is nothing but sanctioned bribery and should be so illegal.  But unless we force the politicians to enact these as law, it won't happen.  It is up to the voters to control their politicians.  

Next up-non-profits.  These are nothing but stealing and no accountability.  I can start a non-profit, put 1% of what I raise from donations toward the cause I am raising money for, and keep the rest.  Just take a look at Goodwill.  Nothing and I do mean nothing is given back to the community.  He gives nothing back.  He gets around that 1% by declaring he does job training for the mentally handicapped and hiring them.  He does-for a lot less than federal minimum wage, which is being held at $7.25 because that is where the republican want it.  Let's move on to the Red Cross.  They do blood drive.  They do not pay you for that blood.  But they do sell it to hospitals.  Fair enough.  They have to cover costs of staffing to draw said blood, test blood.  But they do charge to make a profit.  Then hospitals charge you for putting it into your veins.  Costs are from $1500 to $5500 per transfusion.  So if you give your blood freely, then you wind up in a hospital needing a transfusion, you really pay for that blood.  When my father was in the Pacific in WW11, he told me of his ship coming into port.  The red cross was set up on the docks with coffee and donuts.  They were set up SELLING coffee and donuts to the sailors coming off a combat mission.  And I have been told this by several service members.  So not a fan of Red Cross.  

Churches.  Yea, no,  Just no.  They feel free to peddel politics from the pulpit. They collect obscene amounts of money and pay no taxes.  They aren't even required to keep records.  And that money does not go to charity.  So the need is great to totally ban non-profits.  Make them illegal.  Completely.  When my husband was dying from COPD, I continually got requests from the American Lung Association for donations.  I contacted them for financial help.  I was told that they do not offer any help.  That they only fund research.  So your money does not go to help people.  It goes into pockets.  Oh and the CEO of Red Cross make just in salary alone $634,000/year.  That does not include health insurance, drivers and other perks.  So I do not give to these non-profits.  I give locally to the food bank, the animal shelter, the fundraisers for people needing medical care.  

  

Politicians

 Texas has the most useless politicians out there.  Every one of them has taken the vaccine and every one of them is up there telling people not to take it, not to mask up,  it is their right not to.  All the while they have had the vaccine along with boosters and the best medical care money can buy at the expense of the taxpayer, who in many cases cannot afford medical care for themselves.  Let's just put Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell out there.  Neither has done one damn thing for the country.  As far as they are concerned the country is there for them to steal blind and the only thing that matters is their political party.  And the dumasses in the republican party have not figured out that it is the Republicans that are dying from this virus.  They have killed off over 700,000 of their own people.  And they can't see that.  We are in a world of hurt and the problem is the dumbing down of the populace and the Republicans have spent 35 years, since Saint Ronnie, prepping the fools for just this.  Te republicans will be fine with a coup as long as they are the beneficiaries of said coup.  However, if the democrats or another party gets control of their dictatorship, then they will scream foul and do their dead level best to defend "democracy."  Democracy to them means republican ownership of everything.  And for them to own everything, the working people are only there to support them.  They are the new slaves.  And trust me, if the republicans could get away with owning slave, be they white, black, Asian, or Hispanic, they would do so.  And it would again be a status symbol for them.  Just look at their take on abortion.  The white republican take on abortion was formed during the slave days.  For a black woman to abort a baby was lost revenue for them.  The slave women were mere breeding stock and that is what they want the poor women to be today.  They are not stupid.  Just amoral.  They know that by banning abortion, then contraceptives, it will only impact poor women, ie their workforce, cheap labor.  Well off women will have Daddy buy a doctor for them.  I saw this back in the 1960's.  When a woman whose father had money got pregnant, Daddy bought her an abortion.  One young woman I knew had Daddy buy two abortions for her.  Same doctor.  Daddy paid him big bucks for those off the record abortions.  So anytime you think a republican gives a tinkers damn about anyone but a) themselves 2) their rich friends, you are so wrong.  

The attempted coup

 The farce on January 6,2021, was an attempted overthrow of our government.  It was treason.  And those involved are being treated with kid gloves.  Come on 3 months, 30 days or probation for trying to destroy a country.  We have people in prison right now for selling marijuana. Selling weed that actually hurts no one.  And many of those people are in prison for years.  Ask yourself this:  If that had been black people, or hispanic people attempting to overthrow the government, would this be the scenario?  No, Hell no.  They would have been mowed down like weeds.  And those that survived would be facing execution.  But because they were white middle class, they get a slap on the wrist and an invitation to try again.  My father's generation, the WW2 generation, would not have stood for this.  There would be hangings over this.  But we have the no-child-left-behind generation, the "I'm not responsible for my actions" generation.  The "laws don't apply to me cause I'm special" generation.  This mess has been created because children were allowed to throw fits at school, spit on teachers, steal and the parents rewarded them for it. 

One of my experiences with this entitlement: a couple of years ago, I was picking up my grandson at school.  There is a drive thru where cars line up 2 deep and wait.  The car in front of me, an expensive brand, the woman got out, locked the care, went into the school and got her kid.  She comes out, puts said kid in the car, walks back to my car and informs me I will back up and let her out.  I'm nope, you should not have parked there.  It is for pick up.  She told me I need to mind my own business.  I rolled up my window.  She approached the 4 cars behind me and told them they have to back up.  They did.  She came back by my car to hers, started it and looked to me to move.  I did not.  I refused to let her get away with her entitlement.  And no she was not white, but a well to do Hispanic.  You will find entitlement in all races, but only in the whites will you find the level of entitlement we saw on January 6.  And if this farce of punishment is allowed to end this, we will see this again.  Oh, and I am white, by the way.  I loathe entitlement in any race.  

The crazy that is us

 Never in my wildest dreams or nightmares did I ever expect to see my country controlled by grifters playing the long game to take over our very democracy and turn it into a dictatorship.  But that is and has been happening for around 30 years.  Well, I guess more.  It started under Reagan and has just steamrolled to the mess we have now.  

Where do we go from here

 When this pandemic was just kicking off in China, I met s young man at WalMart. He was wearing a surgical mask.  I didn't ask, but he saw me looking at him.  He explained that his girlfriend had just returned from China and that there was a pandemic and it would spread all over the world.  He said that we had better all start wearing masks.  I kinda scoffed at this, but didn't really blow it off.  This was in late December of 2019.  Well what happened next is history.  We are indeed in the middle of a pandemic and we have a huge portion of our population that is stupid and proud of it.  The "I got my rights crowd" are the ones spreading the virus now.  It is a virus of the stupid spread to everyone else.  And I have had these argument with those in my own family.  Your individual freedoms do not override the safety and health of your fellow citizens.You absolutely have the right to kill yourself, but you do not have the right to kill others and that is what you do when you refuse to wear a mask and vaccinate.  In my opinion, if you do this and then knowingly spread it, then you should be charged with attempted murder.  I will go further and say that you should not receive medical care nor take a hospital bed if you refuse to get the vaccine and take precautions. You gave up that right when you refused to protect the very soldier on the front lines of this war-the medical profession.  You damn sure do not have a  right to kill them.  So if you want to be stupid and proud of it, stay away from the hospitals and practice your right to kill yourself. If this sounds harsh, so be it.  I am fed up with everyone including members of my own family that use 1) you can't compare this to pandemics in the past because that is gone. 2) The vaccine is not proven safe.3) Why aren't they pushing blacks to take it.

I lived through the polio epidemic.  I took that vaccine gladly.  I also took smallpox vaccine.  It was horrible.  I also had measles and it was horrible.  Only polio and smallpox, to me, would compare to Covid.  So if it takes taking a shot every year for the rest of my life, I will do so.  And shame on those who won't do so to protect their own children.  

The state of my country

What went down in DC on Wednesday can be described as nothing but insurrection.  It was an out and out attempt to overthrow the government and led by a sitting president.  He pushed his followers to overthrow the congress and install him as dictator.  And those followers were ready to kill Pence and any one who opposed them.  Treason.  And every one of them needs to be tried for said treason, if convicted, executed.  And that goes for President Trump as well.  And those staffers from the White House that are now running like scared rabbits, they are just as guilty as Trump.  It is time to clean house.  

This has been building for 40 years.  The republicans have been beating this drum for 40 years.  Oh you don't make enough money, it is the democrat's fault, but here let me give more tax breaks to the rich because they deserve it.  Oh and I have to raise your taxes but it is the democrats fault because they want all these social programs  Well here is more money for the rich.  You can't afford health insurance.  That is the fault of the democrats.  Here let's give more money to the rich.  Your payroll taxes are out of control.  Yep.  That is the democrat's fault because they want to take care of the lazy among us.  Here is more money for the rich.  The republicans have been talking out both sides of their mouths for 40 years.  They have been feeding this mounting frenzy.  They have worked at keeping their base angry and riled up.  And it came to a head on Wednesday and people died and their blood is on Trump's hands.  Trump needs to be prosecuted for treason, convicted and executed as do his enablers and his family.  All are complicent in this mess.  All are guilty of trying to destroy our country.  Trump did it for power, his followers did it to belong to a cult.  The politicians and businesses backed Trump because it benefited them.  It is all about greed and that era was ushered in with Reagan and has just been building over the years.  Anyone who has any sense at all could have seen this rolling down the road and gaining speed year by year.  And here we are.  It will take us a generation to dig out of this mess.  And that won't happen unless the republican stop their crap and actually govern.  And they won't.  I am pinning my hopes on the young generation coming up now.  Hopefully they are woke enough to put a stop to all the corruption and power grabs.  Right now we are no better than the third world countries we condemn.  No better at all.
