Evangelicals

I cannot say enough against these people.  They are a danger to our freedoms.  Their only desire is to completely control our country.  To tell us how to think, what to wear, where we can go, what we can say.  They want total control in the name of God.  They talk to God, but you don't.  They are God's right hand and they have the right to be strict police to the country.  Well, they will not tell me what to do.  I guess they should read the Bible that they so love to tout.  Seems I remember a passage about only God can judge.  And judge not lest ye be judged.  I am not a habitual reader of the Bible, but I have read it through several times.  What these people will not admit is that it was written several thousand years ago.  Also, if my memory is right, the Old Testiment was written in Hebrew and the New Testiment was written in Greek.  And there was some 4000 years between the end of the Old and the beginning of the New.  What went on during that time span?  And does no one realize that we are depending on man's translation of said Bible?  Don't you think maybe that these men translated it to suit themselves?  Am I trashing the Bible?  Absolutely not.  It is our guide to living.  Do I take it literally?  No.  And I don't think we should.  Am I a Christian?  Oh, hell no!  Am I spiritual?  Absolutely.  I believe in God.  I believe in Jesus.  I believe in Heaven. And I have conversations with God.  So what does this make me?  I hope that I can try to see the good in most people, keep my nose out of their business, refraim from passing judgment on anyone, and never,ever get a smug sense of self-importance.  I am better than no one and no one is better than I. I don't like gossip because it's only purpose is to cause hurt.    So that is who I am.  Take it or leave it. 

Seperation of Church and state

So, yes, the Constitution does promise separation of Church and State.  But the churches see it as only a one way street.  They want the government out of the church's business, but they want to meddle in the affairs of government.  I say we investigate each and every church that meddles in government.  We make them produce records showing what they have taken in and where they spent this money.  If any have been spending money on anything but church business, then revoke their status as a church.  No man and no damned church is going to tell me what to do with my body.  My body is no one's business but mine.  Santorum and his ilk need their mouths sewed shut.  They are a true menace to our freedoms.  And this from a man whose wife carried on a 6 year affair with an abortion doctor and had an abortion.   Lying hyocrites.  This is what I have against churches.  They won't leave you alone to have your own beliefs and your own relationship with God.  They want to dictate that relationship.  My spirituality is my own business and that relationship is between me and God.  There is not a mortal on this earth that has the right to tell me how I need to believe, how to behave, and especially not how I should judge others.  People like the Santorums are morally dead.  And they damn sure do not believe in the American way.  If they did, they would but out of our lives.  I would bet you that Rick Santorum would have fallen lock step in line with Hitler. 

Politicians are idiots

So it turns out that Rick Santorum and his wife's stillborn baby was aborted.  He called it a medically induced termination.  Yeah, well, that was an abortion.  Pure and simple.  And he has the unmitigated gall to sit in front of tv cameras and say it was ok because it was just a medically induced procedure and that his wife would have died.  So what is good for saint Karen is not good for the rest of women.  That man needs to be set loose in the general population of one of the hard core prisons in this country and really experience rape first hand.  He also says he would counsel his daughter, if becoming pregnant by rape, to see the child as a gift from God.  A gift from God?  Now rapists are doing God's work.  This man is insane.  And bigoted.  And extremely mean.  Yep. A true evangelical.  Do as I say and not as I do.  I will force you to accept my beliefs because they apply to you and not to me.  I hate them.  I have always hated them.  They are a menace to our freedoms in this country.

Insulated upper class

That insulated upper class that lives in their gated communities and has nothing but disdain for the rest of us sure need the peons this summer in Texas.  They needed us to fight their fires.  They needs our firefighters, our National Guard, our little guys to save them.  Possum Kingdom lake community burned twice this summer.  All upscale houses in a gated community.  But, hey, they can buy their own firefighters and police.  They don't need ours.  Well, they weren't buying this summer.  They were sure grateful for the lowly police and firefighters.  Guess it just goes to show, we are all in this together and the sooner everyone realizes that, the sooner we can get to work rebuilding our country.  But first let's drown all the Republicans in the mud.  Yes, we do have mud now.

Shameful behavior

I find it shameful that the Republicans give our President no respect.  If, for no other reason, he should be accorded the respect due the office.  Instead they constantly trash the office.  I just read John Cronyn's critique of the State of the Union speech.  As usual, and like every other Republican, he blames Obama for unemployment, huge deficit, and no jobs.  Never mind the fact that the deficit is so huge because Bush chose to fight two wars without paying for them and was allowed to keep the off the books until he left office.  Never mind the fact that the Republicans have given companies huge tax breaks for outsourcing our jobs.  Never mind that the Republicans deregulation of the banks allowed the situation whereby our economy crashed.  Never mind the fact that Bush had already set up TARP and handed out most of the funds when Obama took office.  Nope.  It is all Obama's fault.  There is not one Republican on Capital Hill with the integrity let alone courage to step up and say,"We really screwed up.  Now we will fix it."  Nope not one Republican has that integrity.  And there is not a Republican on Capital Hill that realizes that when the middle class is truly gone, there will be no taxes paid into the system.  The middle class is the backbone of the country and Congress is killing it.  I guess they have gotten theirs so who needs us. 

Republicans are really out of touch.

I have heard all the analyzing about why Romney lost South Carolina.  Many believe it was failure to release his tax returns.  Nope.  What it boils down to in this evangelical state is that those born-again so called Christians will take Newt, the adulterer and Catholic before they will vote for a Mormon.  Pure and simple.  They will not vote for a Mormon.  The fundamentalist cult considers the Mormon religion a cult.  And make no mistake, the fundamentalists are a cult as well as are Mormons. They don't give two hoots in hell about Romney's money.  And the fact that Newt is an adulterer sticks in their craws, but at least he is not a Mormon.  And they hate Obama for two reasons. 1) this is the most important one in their minds, he is black and 2) he is a Democrat.  In their minds, the country belongs only to them and only their beliefs are the right ones.  Everyone else should be forced to fall in line with them.  Cromwell would have loved these people. 

The Meddling Republicans

Rand Paul was escorted out of an airport for refusing a pat down.  Claims it was government invading his rights.  And were was Senator Paul headed when this happened?  To an anti-abortion meeting.  Am I the only one to see the irony here?  He complains about government intruding on his rights while at the same time pushing to have the right to tell a woman what she can and cannot do with her body.  His body belongs to him, but a woman's does not.  People like this make me ill.  They are not willing to accord others the same rights they demand for themselves.  It has been said before.  If a man could have a baby, then abortion would be drive-thru.  No one has a right to tell a woman she has to have a baby and especially not if it is a result of rape or incest.  To the Rand Pauls of this country, I will let you have all the rights you want if you accord me the same rights.  My body is mine.  There is no difference in refusing a pat down because it infringes on one's rights and forcing a woman to have a baby when she doesn't want it.  My opinion. 

Lack of Class in Republicans.

I watched the State of the Union speech last night.  Boehner should be ashamed to call himself an American.  He sat up there behind our ELECTED President.  The people voted him into office.  And there sat John Boehner, oozing hatred and disapproval.  No handclaps, no nods, no smiles.  Nothing.  He makes me ashamed of what has take over our country.  The Republicans are rude, know-it-all's, uncaring, no compassion.  Just flat our trash. President Obama is our elected President.  The voters in the United States put him in office.  He is entitled to the respect that the office commands.  Well, not one Republican momma taught their brats manners.  Boehner even looks mean.  Bet he kicks little puppies. 

The Lizard

I hesitate to dub him the lizard because it is an insult to the lizards.  We are talking here about Newt Gingrich.  No morals. No integrity. No character.  And I think he is just plain mean.  Enough said. 

Failure of the Politicians

It has just come to light that Romney has $32million parked in offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands.  Why? Because they are notorious for the rich for tax dodges.  He also states he paid 15% in income taxes and cannot understand why the middle class is so furious.  Well, I made around $60,000 in 2009 and I paid 13%.  I can't see the fairness in this inequality.  Romney is so out of touch, he made the statement that those who were angry at the rich for not paying more taxes were just envious.Envious!  Hell no.  Angry, mad as hell, yes.  Envious.  Of what?  His money?  He can keep it, just pay the taxes he should like the rest of us.  And he wants to be our president?  He also comes across as a pacifist.  Do we really want a pacifist as commander-in-chief?  Wonder what he would have done had he been in the White House when 9-11 went down?  Would he have gone after the ones who did that to us or would he have ignored it?  I think ignored it or asked for sanctions against Afghanistan.  He doesn't know how the backbone of the country works.  He does not have a clue how the military works.  He doesn't have a clue about anything except what the rich want.  I would not vote for him if he was served up on a silver platter.  No wait.  He is.  Still won't vote for him.

Anchor Baby

Turns out that Mitt is an anchor baby.  His father also illegally ran for the presidency in 1968.  Mitt's gggrandfather ran for Mexico when polygamy was declared illegal.  After all, he had 5 wives.  So he fled to Mexico with his 5 wives and broke their laws as Mexico also had a law on the books making it illegal to have more than one wife.  So gggrandaddy stayed in Mexico. Granddaddy was born in Mexico.  Daddy George Romney was born in Mexico.  Grandaddy with 5 year old George came back to the states when the Revolution broke out in 1912.  Daddy George is Mexican, ergo Mitt was his anchor baby.  Doncha ya just love the trials and tribulations  of the rich.  The rest of us just hang our dirty laundry out there for everyone to see, but the rich try to cover up and hide theirs.

Inequality of the tax system

Ok, I saw tonight that Romney paid about 15% of his income in federal taxes.  Since Romney made millions in 2010, and paid only 15%, then I should have paid nothing.  My income was well below $100,000 and I paid 13% of my income to federal income tax and my income was retirement!  And now Mitt wants to buy the White House so he can make it even easier for his rich friends to dodge taxes.  He and all his rich friends are the true welfare class.  They take many times more than they give.  Yep.  Welfare is alive and well in the good ole USofA.  And the face of welfare is wearing $3000 suits and shoes, driving new expensive cars.  Were it me, I would be ashamed to ask the American taxpayer to vote for me.  It is the height of arrogance for someone who cheats the taxpayer at every turn to expect them to vote for their welfare antics.  But vote they will.  Americans are so stupid. 

Romney

I have been trying to wrap my mind around just what it is that I so dislike about Romney.  I think I have finally gotten it.  There was an article in our newspaper today about the takeover, ie corporate raider, of a steel company in Kansas City.  Bain Capital took it over.  They put up a portion of the purchase price and borrowed the rest.  After acquiring the company, they paid out dividends to those investors to the tune of about $36 million.  They proceeded to badly manage the company.  This steel mill went bankrupt in early 2000 because of bad management.  750 people lost their jobs. They also lost most of their pensions.  Now, did Romney lose any sleep over these 750 employees?  I doubt he even knew how many employees there were.  Romney does not see the little people.  He only sees the bottom line.  The bottom line to him is how much can I make from this deal?  I would bet you he has no idea how many people's lives he has ruined.  Nor does he care.  I have watched my father trying to pay the bills.  I have watched and helped him work on old cars to keep them going so he could get to work. I know how poor people make do and I know the desperation they feel.  Romney does not have a clue.  If he is elected President, he will be the president of big business.  He blasts Obama for the economy.  People like Romney are the ones responsible for the mess the economy is iin.  And if you think Romney gives a tinkers damn about anyone but the rich, then I am selling land in the Texas desert and it has lots of water.   

Preditory Politics

Looks like the Republicans are now going to eat their own.  Everyone is attacking Romney.  And Perry, that man has not one shred of embarrassment in him.  He finished dead last in New Hampshire and he is still spending money to stay in the race.  Talk about thick skin.  But we already knew that about Perry.  Huntsman gave a fairly decent showing.  He is the most level headed of all the Repugs.  He also has a better understanding of what it means to be President of the United States.  Romney knows what it would be like to be president for the rich.  Gingrich knows what it would be like to be president for Newt.  Paul doesn't have a clue.  And Perry, his ego is so huge I am surprised that he doesn't buckle under the weight.  So, yeah, if I could be persuaded to vote Republican, and that is a big if, I would vote for Huntsman. 

Out the Starting Gate

Looks like the Republicans are out the starting gate.  Of all the Repugs, I would be most likely to vote for Huntsman, except for the fact that he is Mormon.  That old childhood prejudice creeping in.  Can't help it.  It was drilled into me.  Anyway, looks like Romney is off and running. I really do not like nor do I trust him.  He is too slick.  Add to that the fact that he was born with a gold spoon in his mouth and does not have a clue as to how the middle class and lower middle class have to live and what they have to do and the choices they have to make.  I have a relative with MS, just like Romney's wife.  She struggles to pay the $30 per week for the shots of Avonex she has to take to control the symptoms.  Romney's wife has the best medical care that money can buy.  So, yeah, it gripes me that she can have this luxury.  I don't care that they have money, but don't stand up and try to tell the rest of us that "I feel your pain" when he does not even have a clue.  Also, I don't like the attacks on Gingrich about his not serving in Vietnam. Neither did Romney and Romney did not have the deferment of being married with children.  Romney was "on a mission in France."  Sorry.  This man wants to be commander-in-chief and he did not even have the courage to serve in the military because it was not convenient.  Neither have any of his 5 sons.  I don't like Gingrich and would never trust him, but this is an unfair attack.  Shows what hidden money can do for you.  Those PAC's should have to register, disclose the doners and how much the doners have given.  There should be nothing private in politics.  These people are asking us to hire them as our president.  We are entitled to the truth and nothing but the truth. We don't need anyone muddying the waters.  Just be honest with us. 

Circus clowns

I have been quiet, just watching to see when the politicians would began eating each other.  The feeding frenzy has begun. It never ceases to amaze me.  Gingrich is demanding fair play when he has never given fair play.  Perry is so thick skinned and wants the White House so bad, he refuses to read the handwriting right in front of him.  He is not going to get the Republican nomination.  I think the country has had enough of Texans in the White House, although Bush cannot be rightfully called a Texas.  His oil field trash that came with Daddy to the oil boom and never left.  We have a lot of those in Texas.  Then we have Perry.  He really is a Texan, but a selfish, self centered one who is only concerned with what Perry wants.  Romney will probably get the nomination.  Then the gloves will come off.  His religion will really come into question then.  What he does not realize is that a lot of us in the South were raised to believe that Mormonism is  a cult.  I was raise to believe that.  So a lot of those Evangelicals that he is going to have to win over may not come around to his way of thinking.  Voting for a Mormon would be a hard pill for them to swollow.  I could not vote for him even if he were Democrat.  And Ron Paul's past is catching up with him   His rantings from his newsletter show him for who he really is.  A mean bigot.

Big Egos

My stars, Rick Perry is really full of himself.  He just knows if he says it long enough, the people will put him in the White House.  Not gonna happen.  And it is scary that the country might be stupid enough to put one of the other idiots on the Repug ticket in the White House.  Real scary.

Rough and Tumble Ameircan Politics

Well it looks like Perry got the smackdown he so richly deserved.  His brand of politics did not sell with those in Iowa.  They would not have sold with the rest of the country either.  I fail to see how they could see through Perry and not Santorum.  They are cut from the same cloth.  Only difference, Perry is a Southerner and Santorum is a Yankee.  As to Romney,  that man would just write a check for the White House if he could.  I have said it before, there are no good Republicans out there.

Naming of Congress

I have finally wrapped my mind around the black hole called Congress.  They are the largest collection of prostitutes in existence and their pimp, at least for the Repugs and some of the Democrats, is Grover Norquest.  As for the rest of the Democrats, it is simply the dollar.  Anyone who will supply them with the money they feel they deserve, they will make themselves their whore.  The slogan for Congress should be "Will Whore for Money.  Just offer."  As to fixing the middle class, forget it.  There is not one candidate that can or will do what is necessary to fix the backbone of this country.  It used to be that hard work was appreciated.  Not any more, not unless you are willing to do that hard work for slave wages.  Ron Paul actually said it in a Florida debate.  If you are sick and have no money to pay for medical care, then you should just die.  This from a doctor who took and oath to save lives.  What that oath meant to Ron Paul was, "I will save lives for money.  I have no conscience."  And he has practiced what he preached.  Mitt Romney.  He does not have a clue what it is like to make that decision of "Do I pay the rent or do I buy food for my child?"  Or "My child is sick.  Will he/she die and when?" As for Santorum, he has always had his hand in the pot stealing.  He stole from the school district his children were supposed to be attending.  He stole from the government in his home state by claiming his home as his residence, then renting it out while still claiming it as his primary residence.  In their minds, if they say it, then it is not a lie.  If someone else says it, then it is a lie.  Look at Gingrich.  He was hot after Clinton for his affair while he himself was carrying on an affair.  Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. And he was taking millions from the very firms he was blacklisting--Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.  We have sunk to a new low in this country when we fully expect, no we demand, that those who can least afford it, ante up and support the government for those who can well afford it.  Sorry.

A new year-a new start

Happy New Year!  I hope this is the year we see peace in the world although I don't hold out much hope.  We have self-centered clowns running for President on the Republican side.  We have a President who seems to be waiting for the election before deciding to do anything domestically.  That is our Democrat contribution.  We have a Congress who set themselves above the very laws they write.  If one isn't rich when one is elected to Congress, one certainly is rich when one leaves.  Insider trading is the norm and outside of Congress, people have gone and are being sent to jail for this very thing.  Failure to pay child support is also apparently not a crime for a congressman.  In the real world, not so.  Sending one's children to one school and charging another district for it was Santorum's little trick.  Also, claiming a house he owns as his domicile when it is, in fact, rented out.  I would go to jail if I tried some of the tricks these clowns have pulled.  Yep.  The best Congress money can buy and don't worry about the justice system.  It doesn't apply to Congress.  These people have no shame.
