The Silent Killing of America

There was a time when we were proud of our country.  We were proud that we produced quality goods.  We were proud that we had a good standard of living.  No more.  Remember your history?  Remember how the government destroyed the buffalo heards?  Yes that was the government.  If the buffalo was destroyed, then the Indians would starve and the government could take over all their lands with no problem.   Remember the government giving blankets to those on the reservations that had been used by smallpox victims?  Another way of killing off the Indians.  Well, that is happening with our country now.  The government along with big business is selling us off to foreign countries and we are almost past the point of no return.  Ikea.  Everyone has heard of Ikea, right?  That wonderful Swedish company.  In Sweden, they pay their workers well.  Their workers have health care, long vacations, family leave.  Well, Ikea opened a stores in the US, the average salary, according to glassdoor.com, sales associate average is $10.08/hr, co-worker is $10.26/hr, and cashier is $9.08/hr.  Contrast that with $19.00/hr in Sweden.  We have become a third world country and other countries are being allowed, by our very own government, to not only treat the taxpayer as a second class citizen in their own country, but the government is also allowing other countries to suck up our resources and natural resources.  Here where I live, a Mexican steel plant is moving in.  They are being given huge tax breaks to do so.  We, the citizens, are being told that they will bring lots of jobs.  Do we really think that this Mexican company will relocate here without bringing their own people?  And Congress will just sit back and let it happen.  We are so screwed.
