I tried!

I really tried to ignore politics.  I would catch myself watching the news and getting really riled.  I would take a deep breath and try again.  Not working.  Politicians are so arrogant and stupid that it is impossible to stay indifferent.  The newest idiot: Ted Cruz.  Ted says his father, Raphael,  came here on a student visa after he spent time in prison for terrorist activity against the legal government of Cuba.  He was fighting for Castro. So he got out of prison and got a student visa from the American Consulate.  He then got exit papers from the Batista government.  He came to Houston where he put himself through college working as a dishwasher.  He had to lie to get the student visa.  An ex con could not have gotten it. And Raphael broke the law by working while here on a student visa.  Foreign students are not allowed to hold jobs in this country while here on student visas.  Raphael's student visa expired in 1961.  He did not apply for political asylum until 1966.  Raphael at some point before 1970, married Teddy's mom.  They went to Canada.  Raphael took advantage of the Landed Immigrant status and gained Canadian citizenship.  Mom is named Eleanor Elizabeth Wilson Darragh, but on Teddy's birth certificate her name is shown as Eleanor Elizabeth Wilson.
Then the Cruz's left Canada and returned to Houston.  Daddy Raphael held his Canadian citizenship until 2005 when Teddy entered politics.  So now we have the son of a communist terrorist planning a run for President.  Scary, huh?  But not as scary as the idea that there are a lot of nutcases that will vote for him.  Maybe I will immigrate to Canada.
