Zimmerman trial

As everyone knows by now, George Zimmerman got away with murder. Here is where I am coming from.  First, he got a permit to carry even though he had had a domestic violence charge against him and a restraining order taken out against him.  How did he get the permit?  Could the fact that Daddy is a retired judge have anything to do with it?  Head of the neighborhood watch.  Spots a young person walking down the sidewalk talking on his phone.  Immediately this young person is a threat to the neighborhood.  He calls the cops.  Cops tell him to not follow the person.  He gets out of his car with his gun.  He stalks the young person.  This kid feels threatened.  According to Zimmerman, the kid ambushed him from behind some bushes.  Again according to Zimmerman, his gun was holstered.  The kid slams him to the ground and is beating his head into the cement.  He shoots the kid in self defense.

If Zimmerman had his gun holstered without the safety strap in place and the kid did hit him and take him down, that gun would have been nowhere to be found during this struggle.  There is no way that gun stayed in the holster in this situation. He further states that the kid went for his gun and that is when he took it out and shot him point blank through the heart.  Lie on your back with someone on top of you shaking you and try to reach your belt and unsnap the gun, pull it out and get it between the two of you to point blank pull the trigger.  That would be extremely difficult to do.  He also says that the kid said "You got me." after he was shot.  That kid was shot through the heart at point blank range.  He was dead upon impact of that bullet.  In my opinion, Zimmerman lied through his teeth.  When he got out of that car with that gun, that kid was dead. Zimmerman was going to kill someone and he really didn't care who it was.  He wanted to be John Wayne.  And because he wanted to be John Wayne, an innocent teenager is dead.  And a killer is free.  My guess he will kill again.  And this piece of trash is what gives gun owners a bad rep.  Stand your ground means that you can legally fight back if attacked.  It does not mean you can instigate the confrontation, then claim self defense when you kill someone.  I do hope this teenager's parents sue the living daylights out of Zimmerman.
