Trade off

The religious right wants to be able to dictate to women everywhere what they can and cannot do.  They want to force women to have that baby even if she is going to die trying, even if she has been raped or is the victim of incest.  By God, we will make her sorry she had sex and it is all her fault.  That is the thinking whether they will admit it or not.  Ok, I can go along with that but only on this condition: Every Christian woman must get the permission of the voters before she gets pregnant.  If she gets pregnant without this permission and without the proper documentation, then she will be fined $100,000 for failure to do so.  This seems very fair to me because a) they do love their money and b) they hate the poor and resent any of the country's tax money that is spent on the poor.  Also, they want to be able to force religion on us whether we want it or not.  This makes me dig in my heels even more.  Organized religion is nothing more than a bunch of people passing judgement on those not in their group.  Organized religion is mean, hateful, and has nothing to do with faith in God nor serving Him.  It is strictly for the control of others and self serving.  It has started more wars and cost more lives. And I do wonder just how those telling us how to live and forcing their beliefs on us, being mean to the poor, how are they going to explain that?  How will they tell God that they didn't trust Him to do his work so they stepped in and did it for Him?  How do they think that will go over.
Here is my idea of spirituality.  I refuse to use the word religion here.  You are given this life to live as best you can.  You should do so without hurting any of God's creatures.  You should try to help those you can.  You should be kind to animals.  And it is the responsibility of adults to take care of children and old people.  You should start every day in a manner that as soon as your feet hit the floor, the Devil says "Oh crap, she's awake."  And I try to do this.  I slip up a lot, but I really do try.
