Anti-Seminism and why the detention camps on the border are not concentration camps.
I touched on this briefly in my last post. I read the book "The Nazi Officer's Wife" by Edith Beers. She grew up under the Nazis. She gives a first hand account of a country that turns on it's own citizens. This should be required reading for every member of congress, house and senate. The book puts a human face on the horrors of the persecution of the Jews. The Jews were persecuted by their fellow counrymen for one reason and one reason only--because they could. Because they could. Think on that for awhile. If you were told by your government you could kill your neighbor and take all his posessions, would you? Could you do that? I could not. The Jews were slaughtered because they could build wealth, they were of a different faith, and therefore hated. Israel was created to protect the Jewish people. No other people in this world are persecuted as are the Jews. We have freshmen congressmen and women who have no clue as to the history of the persecution of the Jews down through history. Indeed, these newly elected congressmen and women are young activists and are in our congress to further their agenda. Two have taken it on themselves to try and force the United States to abandon Israel. And when congressmen and women stand up and compare the detention centers on our border to concentration camps, they are dismissing the barbaric cruelty of the Holocaust. They are dismissing the murder and torture of the Jewish people at the hands of their very own countrymen. They are also attacking our law enforcement who are enforcing the very laws that congress wrote. We are a nation of laws. If we allow one of those laws to be watered down, then we are on a downhill slide into losing everything. Allowing people to thumb their noses at your country's laws and take benefits that are not available to your own citizens is setting us on that downhill slide. What powerful lesson the Holocaust should have taught us is that the veneer of civilization is very thin and given the right circumstances, ie permission, that veneer will be rendered useless and we become barbaric humans. Not animals. Humans run amok. And we have a few of those humans in our congress. How this pans out is very important to our country and how we survive. But to advocate destruction of another country because your religion calls for it and with two of these congresswomen, their religion does call for the destruction of Israel, then we have a problem. A big one.
