Abortion

On this topic, I am at total odds with most of my family.  Most are rabid anti-abortionists.  They all call themselves pro-life, but they are not.  They are just that, anti-abortionists.  If they were pro life, they would see that fetus as deserving of a good, comfortable life from conception through college.  They would embrace the woman and encourage her to get all the medical treatment she needs for herself and the fetus and they would put up the money.  they would see that she is supported in a comfortable fashion until that child is out of college because they have demanded she have the child that she can't afford nor does she want.  But that does not happen.  She is bullied into having the baby.  No financial support.  No emotional support.  Just byGod you will not have an abortion.  You will have that baby.  You should have thought of that before you got yourself pregnant.  So how in hell did this woman get herself pregnant?  Are all the pregnancies immaculate conception?  Apparently so because there is no man involved.  Just the woman.  What it really is is punishment for her having sex.  They don't give a tinkers damn about the baby.  But that woman went out and had sex.  If they could stone her to death, they would. 

I have had relatives and friends get rabid, foaming at the mouth about "late term abortions."  They see it as delivering the baby and allowing it to die.  Hello!  If the baby has developed lungs, it is not going to die.  That late term abortion is when a woman has gone too far past her due date and it is getting dangerous for both her and the baby.  Or the baby is dead and it has to be removed.  Or in some cases, the mother's body rejects the fetus.  I pointed out to them that if you make abortion illegal in all cases, there can be no induced labor for babies that are past the due date.  There can be no use of forceps to help the baby out of the birth canal.  There can be no c-sections.  All of these, and anything that interfers with the natural birth is an abortion.  Abortion is an unnatural delivery of the fetus. But of course, they prefer to believe the witch doctors just like the anti-vaxxers.  Deliver me from stupid.  And some of these people are very well educated.  Or so they claim.
