Robber Barons in Washington

I am a retired federal employee.  I spent 32 years working for the Postal Service.  Now those in Congress "for the good of the country" want to attack my small retirement. For years, the Federal employees had Civil Service Retirement System.  It worked fine.  Every employee paid into this fund.  Well, the Republicans could not stand for there to be a fund with actual money in it.  They had robbed Social Security blind and left nothing except IOU's that they had no intention of paying.  So the next logical step for them was to go after our CSRS fund.  In 1982, with Social Security in a mess as usual, Senator Phil Gramm decided that CSRS could be rolled over to Social Security and it would bail out the Social Security fund.  A fight ensued and what we wound up with was a 2 tier system where new hires would come under what was to be called FERS, which is tied to Social Security.  The rest of us would be granfathered into CSRS.  Fast forward to 2011.  In May of 2011 when we hit the debt ceiling, where did the government go for operating funds?  Why to the CSRS fund, of course.  But this time when they looted it, they did not bother to pay it back.

Now, in order to avoid paying it back, they just intend to water down what the recipients are entitled to receive.  This does not affect Congress.  Nothing affects Congress.  They are all a bunch of whores catering to their johns--the rich and big business. And I am pointing the finger at both parties.  Warren Buffet was right.  The rich have declared war on America and have done so with the full enthusiasm of Congress.  They are cheering them on and waiting in the wings like camp followers to grab what they can.
