Illegal Aliens in Texas

Perry is being blasted for pushing Texas's version of the Dream Act.  We have a law on our books that allows someone brought to the United States illegally by their parents to receive state aid to attend college.  This person has to have graduated from a Texas high school, to have gone to that school for three years, and be actively trying to become a citizen.  While I absolutely hate the idea that illegal aliens come here and use our resources and in the majority of cases pay no taxes, I see the necessity of education these people.  Texas is stuck with them.  The federal government will not do it's job and enforce immigration laws.  States are not allowed to enforce immigration laws.  So we are in a catch 22.  We get the majority of illegal aliens.  They come across the border and they stay.  So we can either not educate them and have those children being a drain on Texas taxpayers, or educate them and hopefully they will pay their way.  We get screwed either way.  To my way of thinking, we Texans should be able to sue Mexico in international court to be reimbursed for the cost their citizens incur.  So although I think Perry is a idiot, on this he is right.
