Politicians
Well, the pols are on the bandwagon to force gun control. They want to slap a bandaid on the problem and expect it to stop the madness of the shootings in schools. We all know that a bandaid does not fix any problem. Maybe someday someone will have the sanity to call it like it is. The problem with today's kids and young people are that they do not live in reality. The rich kids live behind fences in gated communities. God forbid they should rub elbows with the poor. That would taint them. And parents of all social classes, races and ethnic origins are not being parents. Parents do not have a clue where their kids are, what they are doing and who they are doing it with. They don't attend parent teacher conferences. They do not attend PTA meetings. They drop their kids at school and that is it. The teachers are expected to baby sit. And the schools have to be politically correct. There is no dividing the higher intelligent from the medium intelligent and the slow learners nor from the english speaking and the non-english speaking. We throw them all into class together and expect the teacher to do the impossible--make sure they all learn at their level. This is not doable. Oh, and a teacher can't fail a child. Nor can a teacher discipline a child. Yet we blame the schools for all the ills of society. News flash! The ills of society begin at home with the parents. For the Bible thumpers, Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it. Seems everyone has forgotten that. So, I say none of the laws nor the bandaids will fix our problem with our young people. The fix begins and stays at home.
